The Beautiful Evil series-He had to come from somewhere

The whole reason I started this series was because a reader asked where The Bishop came from. She'd met him in my first series, Not Even Death, and was intrigued by the cold, unfeeling, sadist who was also sexy AF.

The idea for him was a Marine drill sergeant type--bald, goatee, hard-ass, and feared for his harsh teaching tactics. A man who'd be viewed differently in the h's eyes when she goes back for retraining on the way to her next HEA (after the death of her Master/hubs the college roomie of The Bishop in Beautiful Evil.) She had been terrified of him when she was pulled in off the streets because he was all the things mentioned before.

Jordan Bishop--The Bishop--grew into a cigar smoking, scotch drinking billionaire after I found a stock image of the only guy, I thought worth choosing. He wore a tux, smoked a cigar, and had a drink in his hand. Suddenly, my more typical military character's bank account exploded.

Well, after being asked about his backstory by that reader, I decided to dive into the psychology of what could cause a dacryphilliac and what age range his love map could be hijacked so intensely. I had his abuse start early and once he'd hit teenage that love map had been crumpled up, ripped, had coffee dumped on it, and was successfully distorted to a point that the original destination was impossible to get to.

Enter his Beautiful Evil college years and early Marine Corps furloughs.

Enter Jordan Bishop, the serial sexual predator who managed to get into the minds of many women to feed his need for tears, total control, and the fun of knowing he'd always be with them. His charm, mystique, and straightforward ways made it too easy for him.

I developed him like a vampire. He was working on and received his master's degrees in psych and linguistics (psycholinguistics). He was a brilliant, arrogant, and hot California guy with grandparents' trust fund money. In the late 80s he would've been sought after by so many women it would make your head spin. His voice and personality are near hypnotic. I used those attributes to make a man who stalked patiently in the shadows (also Queensryche Walk in the Shadows-which incidentally was inspired by Interview with the Vampire.)

I gave him a few things that I felt would give him a chance to be redeemed (because he was already a character who was well respected.) He loathes lying and that is also part of how he chooses his "victims." He's honest about his evil side. There is an odd moral compass (as I mentioned in the other post Where to Start?--like Sexter instead of Dexter) and he has a code he follows. He doesn't take those who aren't doing bad things and ultimately stalks the 7 deadly sins. Until SNAFU, he didn't deviate. I only recently realized that she is kind of his version of Louis and Lestat's Claudia in IWTV mixed with Harley Quinn and Frankenstein's monster. Lastly, he always issues a warning if they'll listen. They don't, but he throws it out there.

This book includes non-con, dun-con, psychological sadism, humiliation, stalking, violence, language, knife play w/ blood, and objectification. It is NOT BDSM until the third story in his evolution (2 bonus novellas--SNAFU and Twisted are at the end. I strongly suggest having someone read those two parts first if you have big triggers. We had a group support chat box for SNAFU.) There is also the mention of CSA at the end of Twisted (if things had gone down like that, the little girl would never be saved later in life. She is now a character in another series who is with the character Kash in Twisted. He was going to save her then, he saved her as an adult instead.) I'm sure I've missed things. The series in this book is chock full of triggery content, and even after he becomes a Master and is going for consensual he still isn't easy in this book.) Not Even Death might be a better choice for you.  I'll get to it another time, but for now Beautiful Evil.

As The Bishop says. You've been warned.
